I love General Conference! What a spiritually uplifting experience!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!! Having the opportunity to be edified by the spirit through talks from our church leaders is such an incredible experience. I love it. Yet, as fast as it came, it ended just as quickly. Dang... Now that my spiritual batteries have had a supercharge, it's time to preach the Gospel to all that will listen. The week prior to conference was a good week. Elder Tolle and I have gotten on the same page in dealing with obedience and work ethic. He finally opened up to me and told me that he hated sitting in the apartment and not working his first two transfers. So we did the EXACT opposite of that!  We worked our tails off this week! And yet, our numbers don't reflect that. We didn't teach many lessons this week, but the lessons that we did teach were powerful. Jasmin (yes, I realize there isn't an "e" at the end of her name, that is how it is spelled haha) is a girl who is home schooled. Her older sister was baptized about 6 months ago, and is at BYU-Idaho. Jasmin goes to a catholic church, and has been pretty set in her ways. We watched the Restoration DVD with her and she LOVED IT! She told us that our church made so much more sense after watching that. She still wants to finish the Book of Mormon before making a commitment, but she says that she likes what she is reading a lot. She is in Alma and is flying through it!... We weren't able to see Joey this week due to his busy schedule. He has ROTC everyday. However, we have been talking to him every night and he even told us that he was able to watch some of conference! We are hoping that the free time that he has set aside this week to meet with us continues to stay FREE... This Saturday Elder Tolle gets to go to the Marriott Ranch for a Western Family Picnic. He is one of 2 missionaries that will be there. His job is to teach people how to rope (since he is a team roper). L. Tom Perry will be there, as well as ambassadors from ALL OVER the world! This event could affect whether leaders of other countries let us send missionaries to their domain. It will be an incredible experience for him...
Something that I have found interesting, that President Albright and President Riggs warned me about, was that there are people out in the world who try to keep us from finding the elect. This week was a testimony to that. SO MANY PEOPLE that we talked to on the street or at their doors would not let us speak. They would ramble on about the Trinity, or how Mormons aren't Christians, or Romney. Oh my goodness I cannot even count how many times I have heard the name Romney this week. Now I know what people in Utah were going through when Jimmer was at BYU. You would think that Romney would be a great bridge into the Gospel, and in the past it has, but for some reason it wan't this week. We have wasted SO much of the Lords precious time listening to people talk about stuff like that. Then, when we finally are able to talk, they cut us off and go on another tangent. None of them would accept a Book of Mormon or listen to our message. We both could tell that these people were just trying to waste our time. We are going to work hard this week at better discerning who is truly interested in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and who is interested in asking us who we are voting for. I pray we may be able to do a better job.

Till next week!

Elder Michael Litchfield
