This week was a good week. We were able to see Bob again (the 80 year old man). He had some crazy things to talk about, that I didn't understand. Like DNA and characteristics that define us to a certain geographical area. Elder Newkirk knew what he was talking about, so it was basically a conversation between them. I tried to talk to him about the Book of Mormon, but he side-stepped ever comment and question. It was a very unproductive meeting. It wasn't even a lesson. It was 2 guys talking about genetic structures of human beings... Anyways, we were able to set up an appointment with two girls that we met on the street a while ago. Her mom said that she was catholic, but agreed to listen to a message about Jesus Christ. We are seeing her this Tuesday with her 2 daughters! The youngest one seemed really interested when we saw her on the street! Also! The Sister Missionaries that work in the area next to ours told us that they have a girl who is on-date for baptism for October 13th. I guess she is moving into our ward boundaries this week. I'm really excited for this ward to have a baptism! Hopefully that will put the spark in the behinds to start praying for revelation on how they can help their friends and neighbors! However, I'm not going to be there.
So on Friday, President Riggs asked me to go into his office. We sat down and he told me that as of right then, I was going to be staying in the office one more transfer, and Elder Newkirk would be leaving. He said that he was nervous having Elder Johnson (the Assistant who goes home this Transfer) and myself leave the office at the same time, especially since Elder Newkirk hasn't been showing that he can handle the office. He told me however, that a situation came up where he found out that there was a problem with new missionary who just got finished being trained. I guess his trainer was very disobedient and didn't teach him the correct principles on how to be a Preach My Gospel missionary. He told me that He needed the best missionary and one that he trusted to go to that missionary and re-train him. He told me that I was that Missionary. He then asked me if I would go... I told him that when I submitted my papers, I agreed to serve wherever the Lord wanted me to serve. If that means going to Spotsylvania (the southern most part of the mission), then so be it... The area is much much different than where I am at now. It is in the Fredericksburg Zone, which is known for being the "HICK" zone. So it will be an interesting change of pace. It is also known for being a service oriented area. I do feel very honored to be viewed like that in President Riggs' eyes. So this Thursday night, that is where I will be. I will be sad that I won't be able to see him as much as I do right now, but the Lord needs me in Spotzlsvania, and that's where I will go.

Love you all!

Elder Michael Litchfield
